Week Two – Meal Planning by Mamuna

Meal Planning

You can avoid food waste, save money, and time by using a monthly meal planner.

Not only can making a monthly meal plan help you save money, but it will also relieve the stress of the dreaded "What's for dinner?" issue. You'll know exactly what you're eating every day, and you'll be able to prepare many meals ahead of time.

You can make a monthly meal planning that works for you and your budget with a little help. Let's get started.

Monthly food planner - A monthly meal planner is a calendar that lists all of the meals that will be served during the month. For the full month, you'd have a meal plan for each meal of the day. You'll also need to print a calendar page and fill in the boxes with each meal.

This makes meal preparation simple and allows you to save money by not eating out. You can also focus on healthy eating or meal planning by paying greater attention to ingredients. You'd write a grocery list for each week of the month with the ingredients you'll need to prepare your meals as you plan your dinners.

Time & Money - You may save time and money by using a monthly meal planner. Knowing what meals, you'll be making and having a list can help you stick to your budget and avoid impulse purchases.

Taking an inventory of the ingredients helps preventing food waste and avoiding double purchases. The rule is to only purchase items that are on your shopping list only.

Freeze your food - You can also buy fresh food in quantity and freeze it. You'll only need to set out a few hours to prepare and freeze your meals for the month. You will save time and money by prepping your meals ahead of time. To save room in your freezer and keep your food fresh, vacuum seal your food.

On a Sunday, many people will cook their meals. You'll have all of your meals prepared for the full week this way. If you freeze your meals, you can do this for the entire month. This frees up a significant amount of time from daily cooking and keeps your kitchen cleaner.

Keep It Simple - Don't get too carried away with elaborate recipes or meals. Maintaining a simple meal plan can help you stay to your budget and avoid abandoning your new monthly food plan. Simple recipes will also save you time when it comes to dinner preparation.

Get some ideas - Pinterest is a great place to look for delicious and budget-friendly recipes and meal ideas. For any recipe you can think of, they have a search box that works like Google. You will not be disappointed if you search for budget-friendly meals, easy recipes, or quick dinner ideas.

One-Pot Recipes - Using a Crock-Pot is one of the most convenient ways to make meals. There are numerous dishes that are quick, simple, and delicious! For ideas, surf the web for some inspiration.

Just think if you use a monthly meal planner and stop wasting your hard-earned money tossing out those unused groceries. It will also keep you from feeling guilty about wasting all that food for no reason. And, you will also have more time throughout the week by planning and prepping your meals ahead of time. “What are you waiting for, set the challenge today?”
