So this weekend I….. By James Griffiths

So this weekend I (well a lot of help from the missus) undertook the task of tiling the bathroom!

DIY- some people hate it, some people love it! Personally, I like the idea of it but possibly lack the patience/skill to be a DIY master!

But what can DIY teach us about fat loss?

  1. There will be ups and downs - Just as in DIY there will be moments where things go well and moments where everything seems to be a disaster. Accept this and understand that no fat loss journey is going to be perfect or free from mistakes.

  1. A little bit of planning goes a long way - my Dad always says “measure twice, cut once”. Don’t rush head long into your calorie deficit and fat loss phase. Do you have friend’s birthdays, nights out or major holidays (cough Christmas cough)? Plan ahead and give yourself planned diet breaks so you don’t feel guilty after that meal out and know you are still on plan.

  1. Use the right tool for your job - just because Sue from accounts went Keto, doesn’t mean you have to. If the thought of low carb makes your skin crawl then it isn’t the right way for you to go. Pick a plan that suits your needs and doesn’t fill you with dread.

  1. Celebrate your success/progress - take time to see how far you have come and remember to enjoy your progress. So, you might not yet have hit the end goal but if you have dropped 10lbs or gone down a dress/trouser size then give yourself some credit, that’s fantastic.

So, there you have it DIY can help fat loss and not just by upping your NEAT. Get to work and make yourself the most important DIY project!

If you have anything you want to know further about diet breaks or even how to plan them in for yourself, please don’t hesitate to reply to this email.
