Hi Mark
Good to hear from you and please let us reassure you that things will settle as the swelling and scar tissues softens over time
It really is about trying your best in the early days/weeks to keep the small sips slow and continuous. Good that you are being mindful about your protein intake, this will aid general health and wellbeing, healing process and your energy levels. If the milky base products are causing cramps try different protein based fluids/soups high in pulses/lentils/beans plus the addition of the protein water
Do try different temperatures of fluids also, some find that icy products or warmer products work better with the cramps and make sure you are doing small teaspoon sips and leaving 20 seconds between mouthfuls
If you have any concerns with your intake please do contact your provider to discuss
Do let us know how you are getting on and if you are on FB – we have a closed group Bandboozled bariatrics, lots more support and chats from the team and other members, come and join us
Keep up the great work and look after you xx
