Pain, to some degree, can normal following surgery. The upper Left pain will be from the stomach. This is placed a lot higher than people think. Make sure you are keeping your sips really small. And try some peppermint tea/gripe water/chewable windeze also to make sure no additional trapped wind.
Your wound pain, again when an incision is made in the skin the nerves are numbed. As they reconnect you can get a pain to the area that can be pretty normal part of the healing process. BUT with any pain, we would always advise that you call your provider and get to speak to one of your nurses to discuss and make sure your pain is within the normal parameters – especially if you have any other symptoms running aside the pain… ie swelling, redness, oozy wounds, high temp as this could mean the pain is infection related.
